Due to the Federal "Therapeutic Goods and Other Legislation Amendment (Vaping Reforms) Act 2024" and the Queensland Governments "The Tobacco and Other Smoking Products (Vaping) and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024," the website is closed, due to these Government regulations, and shut on 01/07/2024.
All orders placed will be shipped or refunded by the end of this week. Email notifications will be sent during the week. Due to a huge influx of orders (owing to the new legislation), there may be delays of a few days as we ship all the orders out.
This business started as a dream for me in 2016, it has consumed almost 1/3 of my life. The customers and people I have met have been nothing short of wonderful. While this may be the end of an era, new beginnings of opportunity are awaiting elsewhere.
Thank you for your continued support, services, orders and understanding over the past 8 years. I really appreciate it.
The email will still be open at: orders@thecoilman.com.au for any last minute enquiries and customer support. It will be monitored 1-2 times per week.
If you wish to leave a goodbye message, send words via TrustPilot & ProductReview.
Goodbye for now,

History Behind The Business:
Written on: 27/10/24
Circa 2016 to 2019 old logos of TheCoilMan created by my old friend Elgars, from Latvia.
With a redesigned logo in 2020 that you see today, the Easter graphics are designed by, Ahreum Han, from Incheon, South Korea.
I read a few books around 2015 living in Tugun, Gold Coast. Started selling coils in 2016 and was laughed at for my limited range of products. I expanded, investing every cent I had into the business that I could spare, I moved to Surfers Paradise and I made friends with the Australia Post employee. Next, Upper Coomera where I had to make a tough decision, is the business generating enough revenue or is this stupid... storing my vape inventory under my bed. I had a share house packed with stock. I started removing less popular items from the site, which were added later (just for space and turning over enough to live on). My life changed when I moved to Petrie, Brisbane (2018). I began serious negotiations with suppliers and threatened to close my store and demanded better pricing (due to my store being smaller than everyone else that received lower pricing). It worked. Next, I moved to Rothwell. Due to a scholarship and COVID, I was able to quickly have a acceleration in sales and extra funding from the uni meant I could invest in more stock. Han Ahreum moved in with me then, and I began juggling the business, uni and her successfully. I then moved to Chermside where I faced a tough decision between university or making the business bigger and more successful. I chose the business (2021). I was in and out of hospital for the next 3 years. I moved to the final address, Chartwell St, Aspley, QLD. For the final two years of the business I was able to enjoy the success of the business and that was when my investment had paid off. At the end, after many donations, emails to customers, emails to politicians and watching, waiting for the result of the Vaping Reforms Bill, I was deflated.
I've been politicised negatively as a vape store owner and it felt misguided as I was selling nothing illegal (other stores were), I helped people, saved people's money, helped out the tax-payer in reduced healthcare costs and I did justice to public health.
With my peers all closing their stores, I laid depressingly on my couch scrolling through each shop adhering to the ban, I sighed, dragged my feet over to the desk, and closed my store too. It took many months to realise my store and the work of my life was effectively over. I successfully transferred my skills and attention to a new e-commerce venture, one that wouldn't land me in hot water in October.
Despite the hardships and the journey, I'm grateful to have served and been served by Australians all around the country. The customers were huge in supporting my dream. The many women in my life helped.
Thank you.
My Opinion On The Ban:
I watched the industry from early on be studied, observed, and helped smokers as a quit smoking aid (smoking cessation). As time continued on, as an industry expert, I was able to make two public submissions on behalf of vaping in Australia and Queensland. Unfortunately due to the media and pressure from public, the health minister declared vaping a public health risk in 2024. Despite all nicotine containing vapes, declared illegal with little to no enforcement and misleading packaging in 2021, they still ignored the studies done by UQ and other Australian universities and declared harsh sanctions and massive public funding to stop vaping. This is mostly due to disposable vapes being profiteered and containing addictive additives that became harder to quit. Tobacco remains legal. Overall the evidence shows that vaping is harmful, but to a much less extent than cigarettes. Some estimate the risk to be 95% of that of a cigarette.
Thank you to the police and law enforcement who have seen the bigger picture and I'm proud of your work.
Thank you to Phoebe (8+ years of international business together!), Jimmy, Elsa, Yantao, Mai, Nicole, Annette, Trinh, Ahreum, Elgars, Ravi, Arul, Dennis, and finally, Mum & Dad, Without your continued support, I wouldn't have been able to make this a success.
